THE COMMENCEMENT

"The Commencement" of the rivalry game between the two football programs was held in the fall of 1984 inside of J.E."Hot" O'Brein Stadium in Tallassee, Alabama. The game produced an all-time record crowd for the game that still stands today. The "First Half Highlights" captures the Reeltown vs Tallassee football game from the 1984-1991 seasons. The Rebels and Tigers split the first half of the series with each program having a 3-game winning streak during this era of the "Battle of the Tallapoosa" rivalry.

Football Film Fanatics announces the details for the highly anticipated feature film entitled "BRIDGING THE GAP" : Reeltown vs Tallassee Rivalry Film. The documentary highlights one of the most intense rivalries in the state known as "The Battle of the Tallapoosa" between two passionate fanbases, with campuses located less than 10 miles apart. The film will show an in-depth look into the community of Tallassee with story lines ranging from local work forces , school zones, rivalry week game preps, youth sports and so much more.

"Rivalry Renewed"

The "Battle of the Tallapoosa" rivalry game between Reeltown and Tallassee is back on the schedule for the first time in 17 years.The Tigers and Rebels will play at J.E. "Hot" O'Brien Stadium on August 20, 2020. The two programs have split the previous 16 meetings with both having an 8 - 8 record in the series. Matt Johnson and Mike Battles will lead their teams on the field for what is sure to be an instant classic. The winner of this game will be crowned "Kings of the Tallapoosa" and take the newly introduced trophy back to their school campus.
